The defense in particular is "Not happy" and tensions are on the rise, "Ready to implode."
It seems Saleh is is seen as 'Zach Wilson apologist' per… https://t.co/n5BJxUG3A0 pic.twitter.com/f5SYntoUtB
Hold onto your butts, the Jets are a stupid rotten mess again.
Yesterday it was reported that Robert Saleh is fiercely loyal to Zach Wilson, and he might be close to losing the locker room as a result. Robert Saleh might also hate winning and is willing to ride the Wilson Wagon down the path to nowhere. In other words, the Jets are a ticking time bomb.
Why Saleh has unwavering confidence in Zach Wilson, I don’t know. No one is confident in Zach Wilson. Not even Zach Wilson. He sits on the sideline in between drives looking dejected and quite frankly, scared. I appreciate the attempt at loyalty by Saleh but at some point you gotta mitigate the damage. Maybe it's some weird, misplaced allegiance to Zach Wilson. Or maybe there's just not a markedly better option available to replace Zach Wilson, but Saleh has to at least try.
Robert Saleh said "stats don't always tell the whole story" to defend Wilson's play. I don't even know what this means, but counterpoint: They kinda do in this case. It’s not overly complicated - his stats are bad because he's playing bad football, there's nothing really misleading about them. He's negatively affecting his team's chances for success which is unquestionable grounds for benching. Since he wants to carry Wilson’s water and appear complacent in losing games, Saleh is at risk of pissing off everyone else on the team.
I won't drone on about Wilson’s stats. He's dead last in passer rating and bottom tier in most everything else. All he has to do is be average and he can’t even do that.
I know their plans were hijacked when Aaron Rodgers went down, but as a backup Zach Wilson has to at least tread water. No one’s expecting him to lead them to a Super Bowl like they were with Rodgers. We’re probably being too easy on Wilson, he was the 2nd overall pick two years ago and he’s paid a lot of money to simply not suck. He’s failing even at that. He's dragging his offense down to embarrassing levels of ineptitude and actually detracting from their success, singularly. Maybe he can't help it, but Saleh is standing idly by and this is where players are understandably getting impatient.
Sure, if reporters stuff a microphone in a Jets player's face after the game, they're not gonna openly bash the guy, but everyone’s thinking it. Let’s go to the tape.
There's already been a few "situations" on the sideline this year. Visible frustration erupting because people that are at the top of their craft don't love getting bogged down by someone that's beneath them. I'm no lip-reader extraordinaire, but Garrett Wilson doesn’t appear convinced that Zach Wilson is able to get him the ball.
(Allen Lazard doesn’t try to argue with him.)“He can’t throw it” - Garrett Wilson
