JUSTICE SERVED: Umpire Stops Batter From Cheating To Get On Base

Our college baseball saviors were once again on the scene to keep the peace this past weekend.

In their opening series, a Sacramento State player by the name of Matt Masciangelo got hit by a pitch in 8 of his first 9 at-bats. What a scam. This kid was more or less cheating to automatically get on base and pad his own on-base percentage. It's clear that he wanted to get beaned all weekend in the first series of the year and not hit home runs or do anything cooler/less painful. He was obviously crowding the plate to take away the inside half and leaning into pitches. He was taking a page straight out of the "Major League II" playbook and Roger Dorn'ing.
Hats off to this umpire for putting a stop to it, enough is enough.

Unfortunately, you had some on the internet that were celebrating this abhorrent behavior at the plate.

Celebrating a guy that's more or less selling his body for a base and implying he might be getting p**** for it is egregious. Is this what we're rewarding now? Thank the baseball gods above that this umpire was there to put his foot down. We need more courageous lads like this in college baseball to prevent corruption and grab the attention for themselves.
