Shannon Sharpe “Wanted The Smoke” Until Steven Adams Appeared

On Friday night at the Lakers vs. Grizzlies game, Shannon Sharpe made sure everyone had their eyes on him by standing up and talking shit to Dillon Brooks seemingly out of nowhere.

Brooks was guarding Lebron, I guess Sharpe and Lebron are besties, so Sharpe felt inclined to tell Brooks he couldn’t guard Lebron, then Dillon Brooks responded with a “fuck you”. Just a couple hardbodies having words until Sharpe motioned for Brooks to “come see me” and everyone got riled. I know Sharpe's an NFL Hall of Famer and talk show host (that's publicly admonished fan behavior like this when it applies to Lebron), but it was still annoying and any other fan would be ejected in an instant if they did that.

This incited a small riot and words were exchanged between Sharpe, Brooks, and even Ja Morant’s dad. It was a little weird for all this to occur NOT because of an on-court issue but Shannon Sharpe running his mouth courtside. It wound up being a lot of the gum-flapping and “hold me back I’m so heated” - a classic NBA move when tempers flare. Shoutout Isaiah Stewart who was actually bloodthirsty in the moment:

The situation escalated for a split second then diffused as soon as Steven Adams entered the equation. I like Sharpe's odds in most cases but not if Steven Adams is in the scrum. You know Adams was ready for war when he let his hair down, probably a good decision by Sharpe to avoid that altercation. Adams is typically a level-headed guy, but I’m guessing he’d seen/heard enough so he put a quick stop to it. He started toward Sharpe, pushing people aside like feathers and presumably offered himself up as tribute, something Sharpe wisely wanted no part of. So that’s that, it went no further.

After the game, Dillon Brooks called Shannon Sharpe a pedestrian, which is wildly disrespectful and hilarious given his outfit at the time:

Fun fact: Steven Adams' whole family is humongous. His sister is a 6’4” 275 lb. Olympic  gold medallist shotputter. His brothers AVERAGE 6'9". That type of size and strength is genetic, and I can see Steven Adams shotputting Shannon Sharpe into the third row with relative ease. Good decision by Sharpe to decline. This isn't the first time Steven Adams has taken matters into his own hands:

In other news, Lebron is still as hypocritical as ever. When asked about the situation he sputtered a chickenshit non-answer about how he “rides” with Shannon as if he hasn't had an unruly fan removed and banned for life for talking shit to him from the seats. Lebron: great player - also maybe the most cringey and painfully self unaware star of all time.
