What's better than some beach time, tossing a pigskin with the boys? Sure, this is meant to come off as unassuming and benign, but I'm much, much smarter than that. I'm onto these guys and I simply refuse to be bamboozled again. This one's easy: this is no casual outing to the beach with the bros.
Tom Brady's official re-retirement took place on February 1. Since then, the primary question surrounding Tom Brady's "retirement" is if he's actually retired at all. Reports from Rich Eisen out of the NFL Combine were that he wasn't 100% finished. I referenced this in a previous blog, and at this point it can't be ruled out; Tom Brady's a football lifer. This post by Tom only fuels the rumor mill and it's clear to me that he's recruiting some of his best lads to join him in a return.
Tom Brady definitely probably sent out a mysterious unmarked invitation to these guys. I imagine he said something like this.
It's time for roll call - who's making the comeback with Brady? I previously floated the idea that Gronk would rejoin Brady in one final NFL season, and this post all but confirms my theory. Gronk's there in true Gronk form: goggled up, riding some sort of self-propelled boogie board with half his asscrack hanging out. Brady's former slot go-to, Julian Edelman, is also in attendance. Edelman's clearly stayed in shape and by the looks of things, he's ready to catch some more passes from his old friend. I could be mistaken but next to Edelman is Danny Amendola, another Brady disciple. Technically, Amendola is also "retired" but if Brady asks you to come back, you come back. Finally, Bob Kraft's backside can be spotted in the final photo, what's he doing there? This muddies the waters - does Kraft want Brady back in Foxborough or will Brady and the gang assemble in Miami? Is this just an innocent Patriots reunion? It all stinks and my sleuth alarm bells are going off. Let the record show that I'm onto you, Tom.
