FFB Does Fantasy Football Rankings: Your Top 30 Quarterbacks for 2024

It's time,

For quarterbacks.

1. Josh Allen (Buffalo Bills)

He's on a heater, averaging over 400 fantasy points and logging no less than 42 total TDs in each of the last 4 years. If it ain't broke, we shan't fix it.

He's a rootin' tootin' gunslinger poised for a gluttonous fantasy season.

2. Jalen Hurts (Philadelphia Eagles)

As a general rule of thumb, if you have a cool loop earring then there's points issued for that. Jalen Hurts has a cool loop earring.

The retirement of his Tush-Push anchor, Jason Kelce, means the barely legal play might be slightly less potent around the goal line, but it won't matter. He's still one of the best mobile QB's in the league with a slew of weapons at his disposal.

3. Patrick Mahomes (Kansas City Chiefs)

There were times that I was down on Mahomes last year, even calling for owners to bench him late in the fantasy season. He ended up as QB8, his worst finish ever as the starter, and scored sub-300 fantasy points for just the second time in that span.

Here in fantasy-land, we don't care about real-life accolades, such as "Super Bowl victories" or "a third Super Bowl MVP award", we just want fantasy points. I'll say it: IT WAS DISAPPOINTING.

Looking ahead, there's Travis Kelce, Hollywood Brown (at some point), Xavier Worthy, Rashee Rice. Two new additions and some familiar faces. The Chiefs finally did him a solid with this because Kadarius Toney can now stay further away from this gameplan. THAT, my friends, is a win for the entire Chiefs offense.

TL;DR - Receivers upgrade, even with Hollywood Brown out for a few weeks, and at the end of the day it's still Patrick Mahomes.

4. Lamar Jackson (Baltimore Ravens)

Last year, in his own words:

The slimmed-down version should be as one might expect. Adding Derrick Henry actually helps him, in my opinion. There's finally another verified dude in that backfield for defenses to worry about and Lamar can do what he does best now with some of the attention diverted. In a perfect world, this opens up their passing game and play-action to where Lamar can be more lethal than ever.

5. Joe Burrow (Cincinnati Bengals)

Healthy, hot, and blonde.

I'm not worried about his injury from last year. One more year of Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins utilization and I expect mass yardage.

6. CJ Stroud (Houston Texans)

The elite rookie season wasn't a fluke and the Texans are all in. Stefon Diggs (still a very good football player) will only elevate him even more.

7. Anthony Richardson (Indianapolis Colts)

Widely regarded to be the freakiest physical quarterback in the league, this almost feels too low, but I'm scared.

I'm scared that he can't stay on the field for long enough. I'm scared that when the bright lights are on, he won't slide. I'm scared that he won't run out of bounds if there's an opportunity to lower his shoulder against a defensive back.

I have to believe that he's spent most of the last year making sure his shoulder is healthy, getting stronger, and (most importantly) more averse to injuries in general. If that's the case, then he'll be inside the top 5.

8. Jordan Love (Green Bay Packers)

Accounted for 39 TDs last year in his first real time as a starter. I love Love.

9. Dak Prescott (Dallas Cowboys)

Nothin' like getting the hips loose.

"Dak to CeeDee" - get used to hearing that. When he's been healthy over the last 5 seasons Dak's been no worse than QB8 and carries top-3 upside (see: last year's QB3 finish).

10. Kyler Murray (Arizona Cardinals)

He's healthy again and the Cardinals drafted Marvin Harrison Jr. For the first time in a while, they have a proper WR1 and there are sky-high expectations for Trey McBride. Kyler's fellow small lad Greg Dortch is also a personal favorite of mine. Every time he catches a pass I mutter to myself "Dortchure Chamber..." and get weird looks from my family.

Stating the obvious, everything depends on how Kyler's knee is and if he can still move the pocket and extend plays, but we're going on 2 years since the torn ACL so he should be good to go.

11. Brock Purdy (San Francisco 49ers)

Lower end QB1 territory here, but Purdy has enough around him to remain a perfectly reasonable option if you're waiting around to take a QB.

12. Tua Tagovailoa (Miami Dolphins)

Tyreek may be the meal ticket for Tua, but he's feasting like a sultan. Ride the wave.

13. Jared Goff (Detroit Lions)

Considering the "high-volume passing" and "little-to-no running" style of his game, he carries less in the way of dual-threat fantasy upside. However, he'll find himself in the top 10 for the third year in a row if he throws it 605 times (2nd in the league) and completes 67.3% (7th in the league) of those passes again.

14. Jayden Daniels (Washington Commanders)

The first actual starter for the Commanders since Kirk Cousins all the way back in 2017. They've avoided committing to a quarterback like the plague since then, it hasn't been pretty, but Jayden Daniels has a chance to be the savior.

15. Caleb Williams (Chicago Bears)

He's Mini-Mahomes, but he'll have to make sure his arm doesn't get him into precarious situations by limiting mistakes and playing within his means early on. The Bears have added plenty of help at the skill positions, so he's got all the pieces to adapt quickly.

This throw across his body running to his right was insane.

16. Baker Mayfield (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)

The Baker Resurgence isn't cancelled, but I don't foresee another top 10 fantasy season. He'll settle back in around QB15, give or take.

17. Trevor Lawrence (Jacksonville Jaguars)

I was in on Lawrence last year in year 2 with Pederson, now I'm closer to being out heading into year 3. It's officially time to put up or shut up. He's got top-10 stuff but inconsistency and turnovers have been a thorn in his side. Side note: this picture has ruined my brain.

18. Justin Herbert (Los Angeles Chargers)

For me, there's some degree of concern with Herbert, his health, and the general regression we've seen over the last 2 seasons. Brandon Staley was a disaster as head coach and did Herbert very few favors, this much we know. More recently, he sustained a lisfranc injury in camp with the potential to nag into the regular season. Essentially, the Chargers find themselves squandering Justin Herbert's best years in a rebuild.

That is, unless Jim Harbaugh can come in and inject some life.

19. Kirk Cousins (Atlanta Falcons)

Another strong passer, but when will his Achilles is ready?

20. Matthew Stafford (Los Angeles Rams)

His QB5 season in 2021 was magical, but #15-20 feels about right. Somewhere in the 4,000 yards/25 TD region.

21. Geno Smith (Seattle Seahawks)

Maybe he bounces back to his 2022 form (QB5).

22. Deshaun Watson (Cleveland Browns)

He's played in 12 games the last 3 seasons.

Part of his absence is due to injury. The rest of the time, alleged perversity.

Three straight seasons as QB5 from 2018-2020 feels like an eternity ago.

23. Aaron Rodgers (New York Jets)

Another victim of the Achilles injury last year, we'll see just how robust his offseason conditioning was (he went to Egypt and looked at the pyramids).

24. Will Levis (Tennessee Titans)

Who the hell knows what we're getting here? All I know is that I'm sick and tired of my phone autocorrecting his name to "Levi's".

This little bit of self awareness was really funny, though.

25. Derek Carr (New Orleans Saints)

Not one of the 12 best fantasy quarterbacks, even if he's serviceable in real life. Never has been an elite fantasy option, never will be. He seems like a terribly nice guy, though.

26. Drake Maye (New England Patriots)

Who are the Patriots going to hand the keys to? And at what point might we expect that to happen? They're going to be very, very bad so it's not a great situation to come into as a rookie first rounder.

My instinct is that it's going to be an early committee then he'll be thrown to the wolves midway through the schedule, then totally reasonable Pats fans are gonna freak because he won't look like the second coming of Tom Brady. The pressure cooker that is Foxborough can be unkind at times.

27. Bryce Young (Carolina Panthers)

Maybe he takes a modest step forward but I'm not willing to bet on that yet. He's still not fantasy-viable and has to prove that he can be remotely close to that before touching him in anything but a deep dynasty league.

28. Russell Wilson (Pittsburgh Steelers)

It's not great when reports out of camp are that Justin Fields has an outside chance to start over him, but I believe Russ is getting paid to go in there and provide stability.

29. Daniel Jones (New York Giants)

Get ready for a lot of this:

There's a reality in which Malik Nabers makes him look a lot better than he actually is, but he's dealing with a sprained ankle and I think it's important to temper expectations. In another, more realistic reality, there's a secnario that Daniel Jones makes Nabers look worse than he actually is. I know this isn't a very sizzling take, but we're done here - I'm out on Daniel Jones.

30. Bo Nix (Broncos)

He made some risky throws in his preseason debut this past week, but the good outweighed the bad and there were some high-level throws made. It's a matter of "when" with Nix with only Jarrett Stidham and Zach Wilson to compete against. He's 24 years old, an elder as far as rookies go, so don't be surprised if he starts the season as QB1.
